Dear OFSD Student-Athletes,

We are excited to kick off the 2025 Osseo-Fairchild 10,000 Shot Club — a summer challenge open to all incoming K–12th-grade girls and boys basketball players! The goal is simple but powerful: take 10,000 game-speed shots between June 9 and November 9 to build skill, confidence, and consistency on the court. We chose November 9th as the high school girls basketball season kicks off on November 10th

 What to Do:

  • Shoot daily and keep track of your total shots using the official 10,000 Shot Club Tracker. If you miss a day, catch up the next day. You can also use this cheat sheet estimate to track your shots from June through November:

    •  150 shots for 1 day at a regular basketball camp

    • 250 shots for 1 day at a shooting camp

    • 25 shots for every 15 minutes while shooting by yourself

  • Shots should be game-speed and from multiple areas of the court. Use backspins to simulate receiving a pass.

  • Have a parent sign the validation sheet.

  • Players who reach 10,000 shots will earn a free T-shirt and be recognized at a varsity game in December!

 Challenge Dates: June 9 – November 9, 2025

How to Track Progress:
We’ve provided a digital tracker that auto-calculates your totals when you enter your daily shots. To use it:

  • Make a copy of the Google Sheet (you must be logged into your Google account).

    • Shot Tracker- When you open it, make a copy so that you can type into it. Click on shot tracker and it will open up the Google Sheets document.

    • Enter your shots directly in the document to have it self-populate weekly totals. Please email jzawacki@ofsd.k12.wi.us when you are done.

  • Or, print the sheet and track your progress by hand — whatever works best for your player. If you choose this option, please email jzawacki@ofsd.k12.wi.us or drop it off at the elementary office when you are done. Link to form here.

 Need Ideas for Workouts?
We’ve also included a variety of sample workouts — beginner to advanced — to help players structure their practice. These drills were adapted from Forest Lake’s shot club and are great for keeping routines fresh and challenging.

 Example of a 100-Shot Day:

  • 10 Layups (5 right, 5 left)

  • 20 Free Throws

  • 10 at the Block (5 Right Hand and 5 Left Hand)

  • 10 Shots from Each: Right Wing, Left Wing, Right and Left Elbow, Right and Left Baseline

Let’s make this summer a time of growth and grit. As they say, “Teams are made from November to March, but players are made from March to November.”

Thanks for supporting your student-athlete, and let’s shoot for greatness! (See flyer below)
