Staff Spotlight: Congratulations Mrs. Velasquez!
We are proud to celebrate our Spanish teacher, Kayla Velasquez, on being named a 2026 Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Teacher Fellow! 
This prestigious honor recognizes outstanding educators across Wisconsin who demonstrate excellence, leadership, and innovation in the classroom. Mrs. Velasquez was selected from a highly competitive pool of candidates—an incredible achievement!
As part of this recognition, she will receive a $6,000 personal award, and our school will also receive a $6,000 grant to support student learning and educational initiatives.
Each year, only 100 educators statewide are chosen for this honor. Fellows are also considered for Wisconsin Teacher of the Year, with the opportunity to advance to the National Teacher of the Year program.
The Herb Kohl Teacher Fellowship celebrates educators who inspire a love of learning and make a lasting impact on their students—and Mrs. Velasquez does exactly that every day.
