Mrs. Simpson’s Advanced Anatomy & Physiology students took their final project to the next level this year! 🩺🔬
For their final, students were challenged to learn all about a surgery by reading a patient file, researching unfamiliar vocabulary and procedures, and even watching a live surgery video. Their final task? Correctly complete and narrate one of the surgeries themselves.
The surgeries successfully completed included:
• Lower Section Caesarean due to Preeclampsia (28 weeks)
• Mohs Surgery for Basal Cell Carcinoma with a Paramedial Forehead Flap Reconstruction
• Open Appendectomy due to Acute Appendicitis with Appendiceal Myxoglobulosis
Mrs. Simpson shared:
“This may be one of my favorite highlights of all time in my teaching career. My heart is full today.”
We are incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication from both these students and Mrs. Simpson! 👏
