Come Support Our Boys!

Learning another language and making sure it "sticks" long-term requires individual motivation and consistent practice, and these 3 students recently proved their dedication to being bilingual. Sophomores Lexi Ness, Sophie Pernsteiner, and Jianna Scheffer all accepted Mrs. Velasquez's challenge to keep up their Spanish skills during the year break between Spanish 1 and Spanish 2 and all completed Duolingo streaks of over 125 days in a row! That's over 4 months of language learning every day on their own to make sure they are more than ready for the next level of proficiency in their journey as language learners! To celebrate their achievement, they were all awarded a special prize of their very own Billy la Bufanda, a beloved character from Spanish class stories and songs. Will they take the next level of the challenge and double their streak to 250 days? Stay tuned!

Osseo-Fairchild School District continues to emphasize durable skills embedded within the curriculum. Our THUNDER Skills; Teamwork, Hard Work, Unstoppable, Networking, Dependable, Engaged, and Role Model, are essential skills that will support students not only in school, but throughout their lives.

The final project in Industrial Electrical Principles challenged students to use uncommon items to solve a real-world problem. Each group was given a window motor from a scrap vehicle, an Arduino, a photo sensor, and very minimal direction, simply:

“Open the chicken coop door in the morning and close it at night.”

I’m proud that all student teams completed the project:

It was amazing to see all of the creative solutions and the perseverance students showed when ideas failed, items broke, or code needed adjusting. Our Unstoppable Skill states:

“We push through problems. We adapt, stay strong, and don't let failure define us.”

Osseo-Fairchild School District continues to emphasize durable skills embedded within the curriculum. Master them, and there's no limit to what you can achieve! 💪📚✨

Our 6th Grade Careers class wrapped up the trimester with their Business Presentations, where all of these skills were on full display. Students showed patience, creativity, communication, collaboration, and confidence as they shared their business ideas. 👏💡🎤

Great job, 6th graders, on your impressive presentations for TEEN Beauty and No Limits Gym Center! 🌟🙌

Special thanks to Honored Veteran and Community member Adrian Swanson for delivering his yearly presentation about the American Flag and teaching our 4th Graders how to raise and lower Old Glory.

Watch for our Osseo-Fairchild "4th Grade Flag Team" every morning as they unfurl the flag, hoist her respectfully, and put her away safely at night.

4th Graders also explored the symbolism of the Missing Man's Table this past week (which was set up in the Elementary commons for all to view); double thanks to Mr. Swanson's generous donation and continued support for our learners!

🇬🇷 Bringing Greece to Life in Second Grade! 🇬🇷

Our second graders have been learning all about Ancient Greece, and today their lessons came to life in the best way! Havyn’s aunt and grandma, Joey and Brenda Hulett, recently returned from a trip to Greece and joined the class to share their knowledge, photos, and real-world experiences.

What an amazing way to wrap up the unit—thank you for helping our students connect their learning to the world beyond the classroom! 🌍✨

It's not every day you get a letter from the President of the United States!

Our 4th Graders learn to write letters (in cursive!), address them, and look up addresses/select people to send them to.

Last year, now 5th Grader Aubrey Hart chose to write to the White House to ask some questions about what it looked like inside after learning about the National Mall and it's many monuments in social studies...

...and this week she got a letter back, from the oval office, answering her great questions!

We are so proud of our students, their hard work, and their brilliant ideas! Some day, Ms. Hart may be sitting in that same
Oval Office!

🌮👮‍♂️✨ Nacho Lunch was extra special today! Mayor Pettis and Chief Jensen stopped by to enjoy lunch with our 5th graders.
