Last week, our juniors participated in Reality Check!
The Reality Check simulation addresses career development, financial literacy, college and career readiness and problem-solving. Students select a career, and are given a realistic income and family status. During their Reality Check they balanced a checkbook and had to navigate budgeting for the various expenses that would be incurred in a normal month including childcare, medical expenses, housing, and much more.
Thank you to the Eleva-Strum School District for hosting us this year, our community partners, and volunteers for collaborating with us on this event.

4th Graders learn all about Wisconsin's rich history from topics like logging and timber to fur trapping and agriculture (and everything in between!). We love watching them make connections and chase their dreams!
Chloe is definitely a student to watch- she's going to do big things!

Last week, our FBLA students planned, marketed, and operated a Root Beer Float fundraiser and cotton candy sale to share some Valentine’s sweetness with our school community. From pricing strategy to customer service, they put real business skills to work. That’s what leadership development looks like. 💛

We’re shining the spotlight on the Class of 2026!
🎓 Plans after graduation:
I plan to attend CVTC to complete my general education courses, then transfer to UW–Eau Claire to pursue a degree in teaching.
🌟 Favorite Subject:
Band — because I love playing my instrument and learning how to play new ones.
🌟 Best Memory:
Some of my best memories are from elementary school, going on lots of field trips and singing music whenever we wanted. Another favorite has been being a teacher’s assistant and getting to see my kids learn and grow. It’s always special to see them and show them care, just like they do for me.
🌟 Favorite Teacher:
Mrs. Lane-Neddermeyer, because she’s very nice, caring, funny, and just an all-around great person. Good vibes. 🙂
🌟 Activities:
Basketball, Volleyball, Track, Theater, and the Student Athletic Committee
🌟 What I’ll Miss Most:
Seeing my friends and participating in extracurricular activities.
🌟 Advice for Younger Classmen:
Keep up on your work — falling behind is one of the worst things you can do, and it’s hard to catch up. Be kind to everyone because you never know what others are going through. Ask for help when you need it; it’s not weak, it shows you care. Keep working hard and being yourself. 🙂
We’re excited to see where your journey takes you, Makaela! 🧡🖤

One of our students recently combined a passion for agriculture with skills in 3D design by creating a detailed model of an International 1486 tractor. This project showcases how traditional industries and modern technology come together in today’s classrooms.
By using 3D modeling tools, students are learning how design, engineering, and agriculture intersect. Building skills that apply to careers in ag mechanics, manufacturing, and engineering.
Great work turning an interest into innovation!

Our Above & Beyond members continue a special tradition that reminds us what makes our school so strong — each and every student matters.
They created a Valentine for every high school student, complete with a personalized message and a sweet treat. 🍬💌
Thank you to these students for going the extra mile to make sure everyone feels seen, valued, and appreciated. That’s what being Thunder is all about! 🧡🖤

Charlotte volunteered in the elementary lunchroom last week, and her sunny personality and eagerness to jump in made such a positive impact. She was a wonderful addition to the team and helped keep things running smoothly.
We appreciate your hard work, Charlotte! 🧡🖤👏

We’re shining the spotlight on a member of the Class of 2026!
🎓 Plans after graduation:
Kassidie plans to work first to make sure she has enough money saved before heading to college.
🌟 Favorite Subject:
Art — because I enjoys getting to do a lot of different things and express my creativity.
🌟 Best Memory:
Becoming friends with my teachers and getting to joke around with them.
🌟 Favorite Teacher:
Ms. Johnson, because she gets along with me very well — and Mrs. Lane as well.
🌟 Activities:
Art Club
🌟 What I’ll Miss Most:
My friends.
🌟 Advice for Younger Classmen:
Try your best.
Best wishes, Kassidie! We’re excited to see what the future holds for you! 🧡🖤

This week, we say a huge THANK YOU to our amazing OFSD bus drivers! Every day, they do so much more than drive — they keep our students safe, supported, and smiling on their way to and from school.
We are grateful for your patience, care, dedication, and the positive start and end you give our students each day. Our school days wouldn’t run without you!
Thank you for all you do for OFSD! 🧡🖤👏

Our 6th graders put their learning to work by creating PSAs that share simple, everyday tips for lowering your carbon footprint. From smart habits to big ideas, they’re spreading awareness and showing how small changes can make a difference! 👏🌱
