🎓 Senior Spotlight – Chance Smith 🎓

We are shining the spotlight on our graduating Class of 2026!

🎓 Plans after graduation:
After graduation, I plan to join the electrical union and attend technical school to build my skills and knowledge. I hope to gain hands-on experience through union training while completing coursework, move out to become more independent, and earn my journeyman license as quickly as possible to build a strong career as an electrician.

🌟 Favorite Subject:
Gym was my favorite because it was enjoyable and came easy to me. I also found residential construction, woodworking, electrical engineering, welding, and machining to be the most beneficial since they gave me valuable hands-on experience.

🌟 Favorite Teacher:
Mrs. Lane — she made class enjoyable and engaging, even on days when motivation was low, and always found ways to keep students involved.

🌟 Best Memory:
Playing football with my friends, being in the moment, and making memories without worrying about anything else.

🌟 Activities:
Football, Baseball

🌟 What I’ll Miss Most:
Seeing my friends every day and having something to look forward to.

🌟 Advice for Younger Classmen:
Enjoy every moment you have while you still can.

We’re so proud of you, Chance! Best of luck on your next chapter! 🧡🖤

Alumni Spotlight: Healthcare Careers 🩺

Osseo-Fairchild Thunder was excited to welcome back alumna Lori Rongstad to share her journey in the healthcare field! Lori is an Operations Manager in Echocardiography at Mayo Clinic Health Care System in Eau Claire.

She was joined by a coworker and two students currently enrolled in the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences Echocardiography Program. Students learned about this unique sonography program and the many opportunities it offers in the healthcare field. Even better—they brought a portable sonography machine for hands-on exploration!

Thank you to Lori, Mary, Sami, and Morgan for taking the time to share your experiences, career paths, and the many possibilities available to our students. Your visit made a lasting impact! 💙⚡

Weather Notice for Friday, April 17

The Osseo-Fairchild School District is closely monitoring a developing weather system expected to impact our area tomorrow (4/17). Current forecasts indicate the potential for severe conditions, including strong winds, hail, and possible tornado activity.

At this time, storms are projected to arrive in the afternoon. If weather conditions begin to impact safe transportation, adjustments to the school schedule, including a possible early release, may be necessary. We are sharing this information now so families have time to plan ahead if needed.

We will continue to review updated forecasts in the morning and will communicate any decisions once we have a clearer understanding of the timing and severity.

We appreciate your flexibility as we prioritize the safety of our students and staff.

🎷 What an unforgettable experience!

The OFHS Jazz students had an AMAZING time performing alongside jazz legend Leroy Jones last Friday! 🎶 Not only did they get to share the stage with a pro, but they also made some great new friends from Bloomer and Fall Creek High Schools along the way.

⚡🧡🖤 THUNDER COMMUNITY ALERT🖤🧡⚡

Attention parents and community members:

On Wednesday, April 15th at approximately 12:10 PM, our Thunder campus will be conducting a Mock Crash Simulation outside between the Tech Ed facility and the Middle/High School.

🚨 Please do not be alarmed if you see emergency vehicles entering or exiting the area during this time—this is a planned event.

💡 Why are we doing this?
In partnership with Mayo Clinic and our local EMS teams, this powerful simulation is designed to highlight the real-life consequences of distracted and impaired driving. Our goal is to help students and our community understand how one decision behind the wheel can change lives forever.

Thank you for your support as we continue to educate and protect our Thunder family. ⚡
