AmeriCorps Appreciation Week! 🇺🇸📚

This week we recognize the incredible impact of AmeriCorps members across the country—and we’re especially grateful for the two who serve right here in our schools!

Thank you to Michele McVey and Erin Everson, our AmeriCorps Reading Corps tutors, for the time, care, and dedication they give to our youngest learners. Through research-based tutoring, they work with K–3 students who need extra reading support, providing targeted 20-minute sessions throughout the week to help build strong literacy skills.

🎓🧡 Senior Spotlight – Elizabeth Zimmerman 🧡🎓

We’re shining the spotlight on the Class of 2026!

🎓 Plans After Graduation:
I plan to attend **CVTC** to pursue a degree in Animal Science.

📚 Favorite Subject:
Agriculture — it has always been a strong part of my life. I enjoy being able to connect what I’m learning in the classroom to my everyday life and my future career.

🍎 Favorite Teacher:
Ms. Hayden has been extremely influential in my high school experience. As the agriculture teacher and FFA advisor, I often found myself venturing back to the ag room. The environment created by Ms. Hayden has always felt like home — not just for me, but for many students.

💬 What I’ll Miss Most:
“I’ll miss our FFA chapter and all of the events we’ve put on!”

🎭 Activities I’ve Been Involved In:
FFA, NHS, and Softball

💡 Advice for Younger Classmen:
“Stop procrastinating and prioritize your school work so you have time to make the memories when they arrive!”

Best wishes, Elizabeth! We’re proud of you and excited to see where your future in animal science takes you. 🧡🖤⚡

🥊🥧 PI DAY FACE-OFF IS HERE 🥧🥊

Our students designed 10 official “fight cards” featuring your favorite staff members… and one very dangerous opponent: PIE.

Here’s how it works:
🎟️ $1 raffle tickets will be sold during MS & HS lunch
📍 Buy your tickets in the cafeteria
🪣 Drop your ticket into the bucket of the teacher you want a chance to pie

On Friday, 3.13.26, one ticket will be randomly drawn from each teacher’s bucket — and those students will step into the spotlight to pie them in front of the entire school.

Main event. Main gym. 2:55 PM.

Choose your fighter wisely. 😎

Did someone call the doctor?🩺

Trimester 3 is underway! Students in Advanced Skills in Anatomy & Physiology kicked things off by solving medical mystery cases.

Using their knowledge of medical terminology, prefixes and suffixes, prior anatomy classes, research skills, and even terms they’ve heard in medical shows, students worked to match patient symptoms with the correct diagnosis.

We’re proud to say all of our future medical professionals cracked the case! 👏

🎓🧡 Senior Spotlight – Jonas Sackmann Van Hoof*🧡🎓

We’re shining the spotlight on the Class of 2026!

🎓 Plans After Graduation:
I’m going to UW–Eau Claire to major in Music Composition. 🎼

📚 Favorite Subject:
Math is my favorite overall because it’s the most consistent — it always works.

⭐ Best Memory:
It’s impossible to pick just one because there are too many good ones, but an easy choice is the time my friends and I went to prom and ended up playing Headbands the whole time.

🍎 Favorite Teachers:
This one is so hard because there are so many amazing teachers at Osseo.

Mr. Boll is an incredible band director who is fun to talk to and truly knows his craft. He has propelled me along my musical journey immeasurably, and I’m forever thankful for that.

Mrs. Lane-Neddermeyer is the best English teacher I’ve ever had. She’s kind, understanding, and makes assignments meaningful and fun. She helps students understand *why* they’re learning something and makes reading so engaging that it’s hard not to want to finish the whole book in one sitting.

Mrs. Velasquez is an outstanding Spanish teacher. Her method proves that the most learning happens when you’re having fun. Her class is a favorite for so many students because we genuinely learn to speak the language in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.

💬 What I’ll Miss Most:
I’ll miss all the people — especially the younger students I’ve gotten to know and enjoyed watching grow. I hope to keep in contact with as many as I can.

🎭 Activities I’ve Been Involved In:
Band, Jazz Band, Choir, Theater (one-act, plays, and musicals), Speech Team (play acting), Cross Country, working at Ferguson’s, and writing music for band and school plays.

💡 Advice for Younger Classmen:
It’s good to work hard, but make sure you’re spending your effort on the things *you* think are important — and give yourself breaks. I say this as someone who once went about two months with almost no free time. Also, find what you’re passionate about and consider whether turning it into a career is something you’d love to do.

Best wishes, Jonas! We are so proud of you and can’t wait to see where your musical journey takes you next. 🧡🖤⚡

Great things happen when education and industry connect! CESA 10 recently hosted the Find Your Future College & Career Fair at Osseo-Fairchild High School, bringing together students from the Osseo-Fairchild, Eleva-Strum, Augusta, and Mondovi school districts.

From the skilled trades to higher education pathways, students engaged with a diverse range of professionals to explore the vast opportunities available in our region.

Events like these are vital for bridging the gap between the classroom and the workforce. We want to extend a sincere thank you to:

• Our Local Businesses & Representatives: Your commitment to mentoring and investing in our students' futures is what makes our community thrive.

• The CESA 10 Team: For the dedicated organization and coordination required to bring these districts together.

We are proud to support our students as they navigate their unique paths toward success!

February was all about filling our cups 💛 Our Self-Love Challenge encouraged staff to slow down, prioritize wellness, and remember that you can’t pour from an empty cup. From small daily habits to intentional moments of rest and movement, our team truly stepped up to take care of themselves — and it showed! A huge THANK YOU to The Nickel and The Yoga Rooms for generously donating prizes for our winners. We are so grateful for community partners who support the well-being of our staff! When we take care of ourselves, we show up even stronger for our students. 💙

🎓🧡 Senior Spotlight – Sera DeLashmutt🧡🎓
We’re shining the spotlight on the **Class of 2026!**

🎓 Plans After Graduation:
I plan to take a gap year and work for a while. After that, I hope to attend the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design. 🎨

📚 Favorite Subject:
I enjoy any art course that lets me put my creativity to use.

⭐ Best Memory:
Probably getting together with the other senior girls for jean painting — that was pretty fun. 👖✨

🍎 Favorite Teachers:
Ms. Noel and Mrs. Schultz are always there to support my strengths.

💬 What I’ll Miss Most:
I’ll miss having my friends in such close proximity.

🎨 Activities I’ve Been Involved In:
Art Club and serving as the senior representative for FBLA

💡 Advice for Younger Classmen:
Your happiness is more important than your grades, no matter what anyone else says. If you aren’t doing well emotionally, it will hurt you academically. So remember to be a kid, don’t sweat the small stuff, and have fun. 🙂

Best wishes, Sera! We’re proud of you and excited to see where your creativity takes you next! 🧡🖤⚡
