This month, we proudly recognize and honor military children in our schools, across Wisconsin, and throughout the United States. We also extend our gratitude to the many families in our district—both students and staff—who have served or are currently serving in the military. 🇺🇸
Military children show incredible strength and resilience as they navigate unique challenges and sacrifices. To show our support, we invite everyone to “Purple Up!” 💜
📅 April 27th at OFSD
All students and staff are encouraged to wear PURPLE as a visible way to show appreciation and support for our military children.
Let’s come together to recognize and thank these amazing students for their strength and sacrifice! 💜

Did you know…
🍎 Kindergarten has deep roots in Wisconsin!
🌱 It all started here! The very first kindergarten in the United States opened in Wisconsin in 1856 in Watertown by Margarethe Meyer Schurz.
🏫 Kindergarten became a part of* the *public school system in 1873.
📊 While kindergarten isn’t required in Wisconsin (compulsory attendance begins at age 6), about 90% of Wisconsin 5-year-olds attend kindergarten—showing just how valued early learning is across our state!
🏫 Here at Osseo-Fairchild Elementary…
💛 Our OFE Kindergarten Team:
✔️ Hold multiple master’s degrees
✔️ Includes a National Board Certified teacher
✔️ Hold certificates in reading and special education
✔️ Bring a combined 59 years of teaching experience
🌈 Our kindergarten teachers are dedicated, knowledgeable, and passionate about giving every child the very best start.
🍎 Today we celebrate the magic of kindergarten—the curiosity, the creativity, and the joy of learning!
